TWIGGS, OKLAHOMA CITY, OK

Twiggs is an American Indie Rock band that resides in Oklahoma City by way of Nashville, Tennessee. They cut their teeth on songwriting, honing in on their sweeping melodies and chemistry. With three studio albums under their belt, they are poised to release their fourth full-length record in 2022. TWIGGS believes in the power of a song and their straight and narrow ascension to curating memorable alternative rock music is immediately evident. “Less is more,” and “real see real” are mottos they live by. They are proud Oklahoma natives and prominent in the Oklahoma City music scene.

During their SixTwelve Residency, Joe and Abbey White and Garrison Brown from Twiggs presented a songwriting workshop, played games, made pizza in our teaching kitchen and created a banner all with our After School Adventure Program (ASAP) students! We had a lot of fun and the kids learned so much. At the end of their residency, the entire band played a show on the SixTwelve outdoor stage during the May First Friday art walk here in the Paseo Arts District. This experience led us to implement a new series of musical performances on the SixTwelve stage, during First Fridays in the fall 2022 semester!
