All participants will be required to wear mask for the duration of workshop. Anyone not wearing a mask will be asked to leave.

Come learn how to connect with the circle of life and make use of one of the most abundant resources of modern life, organic waste. In this course, Terry Craighead will teach us how to compost at home.  We will learn the basics of backyard composting, including how to build (or buy) a compost bin, what can be composted at home, and how to manage a home compost bin.  We will learn various methods for collecting kitchen scraps and how to prevent pests from getting to your compost bin.  We will learn about different types of composting depending on available time and space, and urgency of finished compost needed. We will also learn about the biological processes at work, the ideal conditions for composting, how to add value to your compost, and how to use your finished compost.

$30 for non-members, $15 for members.

Terry Craghead is a founding member of Fertile Ground Cooperative, a worker-owned cooperative providing sustainable solutions to reduce the environmental impacts of living and doing business in central Oklahoma.
