Inspired by the acclaimed book by Naomi Oreskes and Erik Conway, Merchants of Doubt takes audiences on a satirically comedic, yet illuminating ride into the heart of conjuring American spin. Documentarian Robert Kenner ("Food, Inc.") lifts the curtain on a secretive group of highly charismatic, silver-tongued pundits-for-hire who present themselves in the media as scientific authorities - yet have the contrary aim of spreading maximum confusion to both the public and policy makers about well-studied public threats ranging from cigarette smoke to toxic chemicals to climate change. The central concern of the film is the ongoing use of these tactics to forestall governmental action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in response to the threat of global warming.

Rated PG-13 (for brief strong language)

Citizens' Climate Lobby will present information on local and national action you can take to combat the devastating effects of climate change.
