SixTwelve Early Earth Day Celebration!

FREE EVENT

Annually, we have raised funding for our SixTwelve community kitchen through a Cake Walk Bake Off that always occurs on the Saturday before Easter. We have also held a potluck and plant & seed exchange on the Saturday before Earth Day. This allowed us to get out and support our neighbor’s Earth Day events. THIS YEAR BOTH EVENTS FALL ON THE SAME DAY! So we’re throwing a BIG, all day celebration of our own. Join us for all or part of the fun. We’d love to spend some time with you!

COFFEE TALK | 8AM

Join us for Coffee Talk: Idea Incubator every Saturday morning at SixTwelve from 8-9am. We'll provide the coffee, you provide your mug. This is our chance to get to know our community and its needs. Come see us!

CAKE WALK BAKE OFF | 11AM

We’re proud to present our Fourth Annual Cake Walk/Bake Off to raise funds for our community kitchen! This kitchen provides a space for local chefs and bakers to give cooking classes for kids & adults, for community meal prep and food for events. This fun event takes place the day before Easter, so that winners can take home a delicious family desert (Or you can just save it for yourself! We don’t judge.) All funds raised will go towards purchasing the tools needed for different cooking classes. If you’re a local baker (professionally or personally) and you’re interested in donating a cake to this event, click on the link below to register! The more cakes we have, the longer the cake walk!

This year our celebrity judges include Annie Tucker: Marketing Manager of the Social Order and creator of “Take A Bite Blog,” Greg Elwell: Food Writer Know-It-All and Guru of “I Ate Oklahoma,” Scotty Irani of “In the Kitchen With Scotty” and KAUT43’s “Rise and Shine,” and SixTwelve Co Founder, Amy Young.

The winning cake’s recipe will get a shout out on the “in the Kitchen with Scotty” segment of KAUT43’s “Rise and Shine” show, EdibleOKC’s website and In the Kitchen with Scotty’s website!

COMMUNITY TRASH FREE POTLUCK | 1-2PM

Participants can bring a potluck dish (vegetarian appreciated but not necessary) to share in a community meal. This is a no trash event so bring your own reusable plate, silverware and drinks.

FRIENDSHIP SEED & PLANT EXCHANGE | 2-4PM

Join us for our Earthday celebration. SixTwelve works toward a community based around growing food. The Friendship Seed & Plant Exchange provides a chance for local gardeners and farmers to connect with others who enjoy a relationship with nature through growing plants and food. Garden leftovers and plants that need new homes are ideal for sharing at this gathering. The event is open to new and experienced growers.
